Preparing to Leave

Today we are packing and getting ready to leave. On Wed. we have our final Spanish 102 exam. We have been studying hard and learned a lot this year. We have memorized a 12 inch tall stack of flashcards of our vocabulary words (at least 1000).We also have to know the verb endings (present, preterite, imperfect, present participle, and informal future) and other grammar concepts.

We have gotten some of the gifts for the family we will stay with in Peru. We learned that they have a 25 year old girl, a 23 year old boy, a 12 year old girl (my age), and a boy, 9, (my brother's age). We have gotten the family two mugs, prickly pear cactus candy, and coasters painted with Arizonan scenes. We are planning on also getting them some maple syrup and maybe some other American foods. Our Spanish teacher thinks they would like some "American" candies (such as Babe Ruth or Snickers). We are worried it will melt on the plane so are staying away from chocolate (mostly).

We are very excited to go!!!
